Electronic & Electrical Engineers 40th Reunion
Saturday 10 October 2009

Many thanks to all those who attended the 40th reunion of Electronic & Electrical Engineers, class of 1969 and I hope you all enjoyed the chance to catch up with old friends.

It was fantastic that so many were able to attend the celebrations over the weekend.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glynis Breakwell appreciated the opportunity of meeting participants at the Saturday night dinner at the Francis Hotel.

Professor Nick Mitchell, Head of the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering and long serving department staff member Professor Raj Aggarwal enjoyed taking part in the reunion.

Class of 1969 graduates were particularly pleased to be able to catch up with six former staff members were also able to attend various events.

However the main focus of the weekend was to provide old classmates with the opportunity to get together.  Please go to to see photos of the event.

A special thank you goes to Robert Drew who was the driving force behind this reunion.

At the Saturday night dinner Robert made reference to the Hertzian Fund which provides scholarships for Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering students.

This fund was established as the result of donations made by members of the class of 1969 at a previous reunion.  Those contributions, together with subsequent donations from other alumni, have to date funded seven undergraduate scholarships.

Several reunion attendees – both alumni and former staff - indicated over the weekend that they intended to contribute to the Hertzian Fund which naturally we are delighted about.

For more details about the Hertzian fund please contact Ron Reynolds
