New Year Honours for University alumni & friends

Rob Greig (BSc Business Administration 1979), Chief Executive of National Development Team for Inclusion, was awarded a CBE for his services to people with special needs. 
Rob joined the NDTi, headquartered in Bath, as its Chief Executive in May 2008. He was previously the Government's National Director for Learning Disabilities.

Diana Fulbrook (BSc Sociology 1971, MPhil Management 1990), Chief Officer for Wiltshire Probation Area, received an OBE. Diana is also the Chair of Wiltshire Criminal Justice Board, a Lay Canon of Salisbury Cathedral and a School Governor.

Honorary Graduate, Dick King-Smith (MA 1999) was awarded an OBE for his services to children’s literature. The Keynsham-based author has written more than 100 books including The Sheep Pig, which was the inspiration for the film Babe. 

Also awarded an OBE was University Court Member, Councillor Jane Scott, Leader of Wiltshire County Council. Cllr Scott is also a member of the Wiltshire and Swindon Learning Skills Council and the National Youth Agency.
