100 students to benefit from new £300,000 Scholarship Fund
23 March 2010

A generous gift from Bath-based couple Brian and Margaret Roper has enabled the creation of a new £300,000 scholarship fund to help University of Bath students reach their full potential.

The first 33 Roper Scholarships will be awarded to students applying to the University for entry in the 2010-11 academic year. An additional 33 or 34 scholarship recipients will be chosen each year for the next two years resulting in a total of 100 scholarships awarded by the Fund.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glynis Breakwell, said "We are extremely grateful to Brian and Margaret Roper for establishing this fund that will help so many students overcome the financial barriers that might have otherwise prevented them from studying at Bath and achieving their future ambitions."

This latest fund will mean that over 200 philanthropically-funded scholarships will be available to undergraduate and postgraduate students during the next academic year.
