About this event

Here are the researchers joining us for an Evening of Impact:

  • Sam Hayward is completing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in orthopaedic biomechanics and mechanical factors affecting lower back pain.
  • Leen Jabban is completing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and is working to enable amputees to feel again by developing sensory feedback methods for upper-limb prostheses.
  • Dr Bethany Patenall is developing smart wound dressings that decontaminate bacterial infections by using cold atmospheric plasma – a form of lightning – which can be applied to the skin.
